Four-channel projection with sound, Moving image, AI technology

Narcissus in the Mirror uses the structure of the digital mirror to examine how the self is distorted and dispersed within technological and social conditions. Working with fictionalised portraits, the artist employs AI techniques to replace the faces of protagonists in classic romantic films, treating the intimate relations portrayed on screen as collectively constructed fantasies. These cinematic fragments function as templates through which individuals form and sustain idealised versions of themselves, generating an endlessly looping desire. The work reveals this process as a form of fetishisation—where the self becomes an object continually shaped, projected and consumed through images.
